Dr. Cragin was the head of the Geology Department at Colorado College from 1914 until his death in 1937. He amassed a large collection of publications and manuscripts on the history of the Colorado Springs area which is now hosted at the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum. The book itself is an autobiography (justification) of sorts, with the author telling his story of the acquisition and eventual loss of ownership of the Cave of the Winds and Manitou Grand Caverns near Colorado Springs. 88 pages with early B&W photographs of the region. This publication was acquired as part of a large purchase of ephemera that had been in the inventory of John Sinkankas (PeriLithon Books) after his passing. A rare publication.
